Bat Walks Tickets and Dates

Explore Wakehurst after hours with our resident wildlife experts to discover the fascinating world of bats.

Choose from our woodland bat walk which takes you down to Westwood Lake, or the accessible and shorter garden bat walk which is based around the Mansion Pond.

This evening walk and talk will start with experienced surveyor, Tara Dawson, speaking about the different bat species that live in the gardens, their behaviours, habitat requirements and what Wakehurst has to offer them.

Using electronic detectors, we will try to pick up the ultrasonic calls of hunting bats as we walk. You will also learn about other animal species, birds and insects that call Wakehurst home.

The woodland walk will be approximately 4km on a reasonable surface but is uphill all the way back.

The accessible walk on the 22nd August will be approximately 1km on predominantly flat paths.

Please note we cannot guarantee that you’ll see any bats

Sorry, there are no shows for Bat Walks right now.
