We offer all disabled customers an additional free ticket for an essential companion or carer, with the understanding that they assist the visitor throughout the Wakehurst Gardens visit. To qualify, purchase an Adult, Child (4-15), or Family ticket. Please note: For a child's carer or essential companion, the child must have a disability or long-term illness. Parental care differs from the legal definition of a carer. Documentation, like the Essential Companion ticket or Entitlement to Disability Living Allowance may be required upon arrival.

Essential companion (or carer) tickets may not be used in conjunction with any free event ticket. Essential companions must arrive and leave the event with the qualifying visitor and must be able to perform all requirements as needed, including assistance during an evacuation or other emergency. People attending on an essential companion ticket must be attending with a qualifying visitor who has a valid event ticket already purchased and should be over the age of 18 unless otherwise agreed with the ticketing team. Children under 4 (who qualify for a free ticket) do not also qualify for a free essential companion, as they would always be required to be under the supervision of a responsible adult.
